01. About
Eye for Ear is a new collaborative audiovisual project navigating the blurred edges of music, image, and meaning. Their debut album, QUALIA, is a 14-track journey through space and time – tracing the contours of human experience and erasing the boundary between sight and sound.
From the big bang to a black hole, QUALIA unfolds across 14 songs, each exploring a distinct conceptual territory. In 2025, using a wide array of tools – from slime mold simulations to dynamic sky software – Eye for Ear will materialize QUALIA for audiences to experience firsthand.
02. Studio
The work of Eye for Ear is created in a renovated basement woodshop in Williamsburg. In the studio, panels of LEDs hang on discarded elevator parts from the Woolworth Building and alum crystals grow in a large horse trough next to the vacuum chamber used for resin pours. Synths, LED fixtures, raspberry pi boxes, and motors crowd the shelves in patient anticipation for their next use.
03. People
Eye for Ear is a creative effort from amanamun (music), torshev (visuals), and thierry (drums). The project has taken shape through a shifting network of additional collaborators – dancers, photographers, engineers, musicians – each nudging QUALIA towards its current trajectory.
04.Practice
Eye for Ear works with a broad spectrum of digital and hardware tools, licensed assets, and community knowledge to craft audiovisual experiences.
Some of the visuals – like the portraits in the People section – incorporate AI diffusion techniques in their creation. The group is committed to transparency around its creative processes and will provide documentation for each work on this site.
No AI tools were used in the music of QUALIA.
